- Notes
- Ida went to Bupeni to demonstrate a chicken coop. The roads were so bad that she had to ask her driver to take another route in order to make it. The members were waiting for Ida because the route she took was far.
The last time she visited members were requested to bring some small poles for demonstration of which most of them forgot. But good enough one member brought enough. They started building and discovered some few mistakes that one member did when building his chicken coop. He had not raised it up for poop to drop.
Bwana asked if he couldn’t use bricks. Ida answered that bricks are the best if you people can afford and the coop will last longer than that of poles. But since we are starting from scratch, let’s use the local available cheap materials such as grass, lantana camara stems which are free. After some time when chickens have been sold, you will be able to build coop that will last for years.
Mubbuli asked who will buy the chickens from them, one member answered him saying that let people start keeping chickens he will buy them because he sells chickens in Kaliro and Iganga town.
They were great full for Kibo developmental lessons.
- Next Visit
- 2020-02-24 - Purpose: To finalize the building of chicken coops and assess the knowledge and understanding of the previous lessons.
- Program Success
- Bupeni is one community that the Government chose to be the demo village. Because of Kibo efforts in hygiene and sanitation, they were able to be recognized by the sub county.
- Program Critical Needs
- Government needs to help work on the roads.
- Program Ownership
- Some two men started building coop for their chickens though they have any idea. Some few mistakes were corrected and the village is happy.

- Program Expected Of Village
- The community will attend the last demo and the sub county giso is the one leading.
- Program Staff Preparations Next Visit
