Notes
Harriet found the participants waiting at the meeting place. The chairperson of the Healthy and Safe kitchen program Jane Wankuluna welcomed kibo to their village and thanked them for working with them through different programs. An opening prayer was led by Mr. Ntalo George who thanked the lord that enabled kibo to work in their village. Harriet asked the participants to tell her how far they have gone with building stoves in the neighboring communities. They told her that they selected a team of 15 members to participate in building a stove for IKumbya secondary school and out of these five are men. The chairperson of the Group Mrs. Jane Wankuluna told Harriet that they agreed that the rest of the members will be in charge of cutting grass , collecting the dirt, water and stamp it.They said that they target is to work as a group and to ensure that every one participate. They also told her after the stove being built they will again meet as a group and agree how to distribute the money or use the money equally. The group also reported that all the members cook on their stoves on daily basis and those ones whose facilities were not smeared or lacked firewood risen stands for firewood storage they have started putting them in place. Harriet encouraged them to stay working together in order to promote sustainability of the program.
