Notes
Martin went to Igerera A, he walked around with the Chairman LC1 and the sanitation committee members in the lower section of the village. Good enough the community members in that village have worked so hard on their sanitation facilities like digging the new pit latrines and constructing them, others are still digging them, those who are lazy, rubbish pits, kitchens and shower areas. Unfortunately last week they had a heavy rain with a big storm, and other sanitation facilities like latrines, kitchens and shower facilities was destroyed by the heavy rain. But good enough, when group was working around that section, other community members was replacing those facilities which was destroyed by the big storm. But that problem forced the group to encourage those who are still working on their sanitation facilities and those who are replacing them about the standards. like Julias Balikowa, dug a new pit latrine 25ft deep, he constructed it, he is in process of roofing it, William Batala, he is digging a new pit latrine it’s now 20ft deep, and he is continuing to make it 30ft deeper, David Isiko, constructed his kitchen its roofed and it’s working, Devis Kaigo, he constructed a shower facility it’s working which is so good and Ngobi Mafabi, since kibo started working in that village, he was not easy to meet him at his home and to work on their home facilities. But good enough he started digging the new pit latrine it’s now 8ft deep. And even the group was encouraging the residents about maintenance, smearing and use of ash to eliminate flies and smell in their homes as well as the village. And they are willing to work on their sanitation home facilities. According to their hard working, kibo is also willing to work with them. As kibo is continuing to work with that community as well as the village, the group walked in 36homes.
