Notes
Suzan went to the village to follow up on the construction of the high risen firewood storages, the smearing of the buildings and the stove usage. When she got there, she found some members gathered at the meeting place with their group chairperson. She was warmly welcomed to the village that day and they all settled down and began discussing about the activities going on so far. The chairperson on behalf of the group members reported that about six members had managed to construct the high risen firewood storages in their kitchens while others were smearing their buildings and stoves. The chairperson had also begun building a new kitchen because his old kitchen was in a very bad state where by all the grass was swept off by the storms and the walls had cracked all over. Later that day, they got up and began walking around the village visiting home to home as they monitored different facilities. Almost all the members were now cooking on their fuel efficient stoves although some stoves needed to be repaired and smeared because they had deep cracks. Suzan demonstrated how to refill the cracks using sand and water, and then smear the stove using a mixture of cow dung and dirt collected from the swamp areas. She went ahead encouraging each member to improve on their facilities especially the dish racks which were eaten up by the termites and the firewood storages. She also requested the leaders to always monitor their members and ensure that they maintained and improved on their facilities. The members thanked Suzan for for the lessons and advice given and promised to work together as a team. The meeting finally came to an end wishing one another a happy stay.
