Notes
Martin went to Kishaike, he walked around with the Chairman LC1 and the VHTs. Their intention was to check on their sanitation improvement in that village. The big number of homes worked on their sanitation facilities like latrines, kitchens, rubbish pits, dish racks shower areas and others have constructed their hand washing facilities. Unfortunately last but one, they had a heavy rain with big storm, and some facilities like latrines, kitchens and shower facilities was destroyed by the heavy rain. In the 35homes the group walked in, their was some homes who replaced so hard on their sanitation facilities and others are still working on them like Izaak Buyinza, replaced his new latrine 25ft deep and it’s smeared, Ben Sabani, dug a new pit latrine 30ft deeper, he put a slab on it, it’s under construction, Katibu Waiswa replaced his shower area with cement at the top, it’s working, Bulayimu Pande, smeared his main house, which is so good And Joseph Njobe, he was constructing a dish rack on that day. For those who are still working on their sanitation facilities and those who are replacing their them, the group was encouraging them about the standards and maintenance. To make them strong and clean, so that they can help them for a long time. And for those who have worked on their new facilities, the group was encouraging about smearing and the use of ash to eliminate flies and smell, which can bring the diseases like malaria, diarrhea and typhoid, which can affect mostly the children. And sometimes those diseases can create poverty, and sometimes the big results can be death. That is way kibo always encourages the residents about those things. As kibo is still working in that village, the group walked in 35homes
