Notes
Steven and Chris went to Ndalike village along with Elizabeth and Racheal who are students from Rochester university, the purpose of this visit was a follow up on the hand washing facilities and construction of new latrines. Steven and Chris also wanted to make sure that every home has a hand washing facility and a well maintained latrines and also encourage those who don’t have yet to construct them too. Steven,Chris,Rachael and Elizabeth were joined by the area chairman and the VHT with whole they moved with home to home . It was a great experience for the Rochester university students because they got to understand the kind of relationship Kibo had built with the community and to see how the village had changed since kibo went there. Steven ,Chris and the Rochester university students were able to visit 45 homes and it was encouraging to see that out of 45 homes 40 homes had pit latrines and the hand washing stations, and the remaining 5 homes had their latrines still under construction and the hand washing stations as well. Steven encouraged the community members to maintain their facilities and also advised those constructing new ones to complete them before the next visit. Next visit, Steven will be going back to follow up on the remaining new latrines and hand washing stations.
