Notes
Irene went to kagulu to continue demonstrating on how to make a balanced diet. Irene started with a review of the previous lesson asking members to give the different foods that make a balanced diet. Aisha started by giving (posho, beans, ovacado, and water)she said that can make a well balanced meal, yahaya said (rice, small fish, dodo), that can also make a meal and several combinations as the different members gave examples. Irene was so grateful to the members for taking in the lessons and then brought out the different food samples to individuals for demonstration, and several members demonstrated on how to make the different food combinations. Irene later concluded her lesson by telling all the community members to work together as a community in order to have plenty of food in the next season and to encourage the different individuals to plant several crops and different foods so as not to grow one crop. She also told the members to come together to help the elderly who can not support themselves to help provide food and voluntarily plant them crops so that they also have something to eat at the end of the planting season. Irene also told the members that next time they will have a chance to move from several homes to view the different gardens prepared for the next planting season and view some of their family members that don’t attend the lessons.
