Notes
Tom made a visit to kalalu village to meet with the leadership of the village to discuss on the way forward for sanitation and sanitation improvements. During the meeting, the chairman was very thankful for Kibo to go back to the village. He thought that kibo was not going to go back o the village because of the covid 19. He said that he was very happy for kibo to go back. He also said that during the lockdown, some residents took the pick axes to start on their pits. He said that 6 pits were dug and also a few dish racks. He said it was hard to make follow ups on people because of the covid guided lines. Tom thanked the chairman and the committee members for the work they have done and encouraged them that Kibo is back to the village to work alongside them to improve the sanitation and hygiene of the village. Tom advised the chairman to continue with the selection of a new sanitation committee of two members designated to encourage and help improve on a particular facility. Tom advised him that during the process, they should follow the government guidelines as well. On the issue of Covid prevention, the chairman said that the people were sensitized in the beginning but now there is some redundancy in the following of the government guidelines. Tom advised the chairman to continue engaging and encouraging his residents to follow the government prevention guidelines as covid is present and still presents a very serious problem on the lives of people. Tom after the meeting left for jinja and the chairman continued with the meeting.
