Notes
Harriet and Tape went to Bukudumira village to follow up on the progress of Healthy and Safe kitchen program since kibo had stopped going to their village for a couple of weeks due to the outbreak of covid 19. When they reached they found the chairperson LC1 who welcomes them to their village and told him that his village have embraced hand washing more especially during this time of covid 19. However he has registered two case of domestic violence Because husbands and wives who never used to stay together have now ended into conflicts. He added that he has been able to counsel those families, Reconcile them and asked kibo to spare some time and may be talk to those two families. Harriet walked around some homes inspecting on the stoves, smearing and construction of firewood risen stands. She reached 10 homes and found when the nine homes were using their stoves on daily basis. One was not being used because the wive in home was sick and had stopped children to cook on it and ended up using on the three stones which was dangerous for the children because they can easily get burnt. She re sensitized the family and reminded them about the dangers of open flames.she also encouraged them to teach the children how to cook on the fuel efficient stoves to limit the problems that may come from the open flames. Before Tape and Harriet left the home, the family had already taken out the three stones ready to start cooking on their fuel efficient stove. Most homes did not have the firewood risen stand stocked with firewood. Harriet and Tape encouraged them to construct firewood risen stands so as to save firewood that they will use in future.
