Learning Objectives
To enable the pupils to know how HIV is spread
When Manuela reached the school, she found pupils in class, as she entered she was happily welcome by the pupils. Manuela started by asking the pupils about the previous assignment that she gave them, some pupils tried to share their findings then after she introduced the new topic about HIV/AIDS, she asked the pupils what HIV is but there was no response.Manuela told them that HIV is a virus that affects the people’s immune systems, which is the body’s natural defence system (H- Human, I- Immune Deficiency, V- Virus). She went on and also said that AIDS is Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome. AIDS is the last stage of HIV infection Or AIDS is the combination of opportunistic diseases like Tuberculosis, malaria, fever and hepezositer among others. After that Manuela taught the pupils that for HIV transmission to take place there must be things for example the cut or a bleeding wound, fluids like Blood, vaginal fluids, Semen and Breast Milk. After the lesson, Manuela issued to the pupils the past paper for the previous post test done. In summary, Manuela advised the pupils to abstain from sex till marriage so that they can be free from HIV infections.
