Notes
Martin went to Ibaako, he walked around with chairman LC1 and the VHTs. Their intention was to check on the sanitation and hygiene improvement in that village. and facility construction. But good enough the big number of homes have worked on their new latrine constructions, and others are still working on them, like Namulondo Safa, they have started constructing her latrine, and she promised the group that they are going to complete it in one week, Kisakye Stephen he is continuing to dig his new pit latrine, to make it 30ft deeper, Milabu Nabirye, she is an-old woman, a widow, but their sons are constructing for her the new latrine and Nabirye Teddy she is also a widow but she hired someone to maintain her latrine and he is maintaining it. The reason why kibo staff is focusing on latrines fast, because someone can not work on a latrine in few days and it’s the major facility in a home and it takes long period to work on it. On the side of other facilities like kitchens, rubbish, dish racks and shower areas, other families have worked on them. But the group was encouraging the residents about the standards and maintenance due to the long period of the lockdown. And the community members told the group that they are willing to maintain them. On the side of the hand washing stands due to Covid 19, the group was still demonstrating home to home how they can construct them. According to their hard working, they are willing to work on them. As kibo is still working in that community as well as the village, the group walked in 38homes.
