- Notes
- Jeska and Tape went to Igerera B to follow up on stove building. ,usage of stoves especially those ones which were built earlier.
Also there are some two stoves ( for Kakuku Laston and Mpata)that were reported not to working properly. These stoves were built by the community themselves after kibo staff had stopped going to their village due to covid 19.
Jeska and Tape reached in the village and looked at these stoves to find out where the problem was. They found out when these stoves were poorly build in a way the they put very big banana stems in the big pot to create a hole where the big cooking pot will sit. Because one of the stove for Kakuku Laston had a big space from the fire wood to the source pan cooking was very long thus takes along time, much firewood for food to get ready.
They told the family to cut grass so that kibo staff will come back to their village and build for them another stove as they explain to them the mistake that was earlier made. They asked the family to be patient until kibo fixes the problem.
The families had abandoned these stoves because they were not effective to them / had no difference between open flames and the stove.
The stove for Mpata was poorly built in a way that they used a very small banana stem to create a hole that takes fire from the big stove to the small stove.
Jeska and Tape asked for a knife from the family and enlarged the hole and immediately the stove started working.
Also some homes had not yet started cook on their stoves yet they were already dry . They said that they were waiting for kibo to instruct them so that they start using them. Kibo staff told them to start cooking on them and they immediately started cooking on them.
