- Notes
- Jeska and Tape went to Kalitumba village to meet the participants in the lower section of the village who had not yet got stoves before the out break of covid 19.
The main goal was to discuss with the participants how to work with them to make sure that they also get stoves.
They asked the participants whether they are interested in learning how to build and to get stoves. The participants said that they have seen those ones with stoves cooking very well by using less fire wood, cooking in a clean environment with out smoke and this has attracted them so much towards the program.
They told them that the materials required are available in their section of the village or what they need is to teach them how to use them also.Jeska asked them whether they have quality kitchen where the stoves will be built. The participants said that most of them did not have kitchens by them and that discouraged them to join in the program because they did not know when they will be able to finish building their kitchen.
Jeska and Tape encouraged them to tell other people who might be lacking kitchens to join in the program so that they learn / work with them as they improve on their kitchens so that when they also get kitchens the group can buy them back their energy by building stoves for them too.
Kibo staff also reminded them that they will build for them demonstration stoves where they encourage them to learn and build others for the entire village.
Kibo staff also told the participants to do a simple task of making sure that every home is smeared in preparation for the stove and every participants should bring a heap of grass in the next meeting. Kibo will demonstrate to them how to cut grass and they will cut grass as a group that will be required to build stoves.
They also told them that the grass cutting with be done as a group of 6 people each to avoid many people gathering at ago.
The chairperson LC1 Mr. Wagaga promised to follow up with these to ensure that they participate. He also thanked kibo for loving their village.
