- Harriet passed by Ikumbya Sub county to meet the new CDO and share with her kibo activities in Ikumbya village. She had also planned to with her to the village and see the activities by herself. Harriet also had planned to follow up with smearing of the stoves ,kitchens and other facilities in the village. She was also to look at the construction of firewood risen stands for firewood storage.
Unfortunately she reached at the subcounty and did not find the CDO in her office. She asked for her phone number tried to reach her but her phone couldn’t go through.
HARRIET decided to proceed to the village and do her work.
She reached in the village, decided to walk home to home as she inspected on the progress of smearing and construction of firewood risen stands for firewood storage to be used during the rainy season.
She walked through 24 homes and out of these homes five homes had already smeared their kitchens however they were concentrating only on the outside part of the kitchen and one person ( Catherine Namukwana) had only smeared the stove and left the entire kitchen un smeared too.
Harriet encouraged them to smear the stove and the entire kitchen both outside and inside the kitchen. This will enable the kitchen to look neat and last longer.
Also as far as the construction of firewood risen stands some people have also started constructing them. However one Member Nangobi had used weak wood to construct the firewood risen stand . This would be dangerous if she stocked with heavy wood because they would easily collapse on her.
HARRIET talked to Nangobi to improve on her firewood risen stands to avoid accidents that may come out of that. Nangobi said that for her she is too old to that but she promised to talk to her grand son to build for her a better one.
HARRIET helped her to dismantle the weak firewood risen stand as she waits on her grandson to build for her a better one.
Harriet talked to the participants to do standard work that will last longer as well as benefit them.
She also asked the members to follow up with each other, encourage one another to improve because United they can achieve much.
