- Jeska went Kalitumba to teach participants in the lower section how to practically remove banana stems from stoves. The demonstration was to be carried on the first stove that was previously built in the lower section.
She found the participants waiting for at Zaituna’s home where a demonstration exercise was to be carried out. She asked the participants to bring for her a panga and a knife that were to be used to remove banana stems from the previously built stove.
She asked the participants to be attentive watch and ask questions where they did not understand so that they will be able to learn.
She removes the the saucepans that had used to build a stove to provide to sitting areas for the saucepans while cooking. She plugged off the banana stems, removed the dirt had remained stuck in the holes that would prevent the flow of fire, smoke or oxygen to light fire.
After she shaped the stove in order to look neat and nice. She did all this as she explained the whole process to the participants.she also encouraged the participants to learn so that they will be able to build stoves on their own.
She also asked Zaituna the owner of the stove to smear it and leave it to dry for more three weeks before she starts cooking on it. When Zaituna saw a complete stove she was very happy , thanked kibo for extending the services to the lower section of the village which was not involved at the beginning due to poor leadership that was established at the beginning of the program.
The participants promised to continue working together until every one in the group gets a stove.
Jeska left them with an assignment to identify another member to get the second demonstration stove. She also told them that before she reaches in the village she should find them when they have collected the dirt , banana stems to the sight to show they are also committed and interested in the program and also to save time
