Lesson Taught
Bible Lesson 4: Loving others
Notes
Ida went to Nawandyo to continue with the Bible lesson about Loving others. She did the recap and started from where they remembered. Ida asked who is your neighbor? Many members gave names of the neighbors next to their homes. Ida thanked them for knowing their neighbors and their names because in some countries, people don’t know their immediate neighbors even by name! She continued telling them some new neighbors they must consider. These are : Widows, old people, orphans, drunkards, the sick, the lame and co-wives etc. The group laughed but Ida insisted by reminding them of the Good Samaritan. He helped just because the victim was created in God’s image not because they were of the same clan nor village. Margaret asked were will they find an injured person so as to help? Ida made it clear that it’s not only about helping an injured person but whoever is in need at that moment. It can be a woman who has just given birth, women can help her with firewood, fetch water for her, wash clothes, cook for her family etc. Ida also gave an example of Kigalama community who built for an old man a house! It can be contributing school fees for a bright child in the community who has no future for further studies. Ida concluded the meeting with a memory verse in a song style quoted from (Mathew 25:31-46) Whatsoever you do To the least of my brothers That you do unto me. When I was hungry you gave me to eat When I was thirsty you gave me to drink Now enter into the home of my father. And them Muhammad closed with a word of prayer.

Program Success
The community members built a wood saving stove for a woman who had just got married and didn’t participate during the time the program was going on. This showed a good example of how communities should treat or welcome new members to their village.
