To raise the money needed for the borehole account and feed the workers that will construct the borehole
Staff Action Steps
To call the chairperson of the committee and get a feed back from what happened in their community meeting where they had to discuss about the points to be considered for survey before the next meeting

Village Notes
Budumba missed to get a borehole from the government because they were not working together and they were not guided very well how best they can work together and there was a selfish motive as well. Kibo has done a great job to unite the community and is guiding the community now through all the steps to be followed before the borehole can be drilled

Notes
This meeting was intended to continue preparing the community before the borehole survey and to know more of their roles they have to play before the borehole steps of surveying and drilling. Alex focused on the point of encouraging everyone to contribute the money needed for the borehole account as part of the initial capital cost for the borehole construction. There is always a big doubt in many people as they can’t just easily pay the money before they see with their naked eyes what they are paying for. A very big saying in this Busoga culture that they “pay money for what they see”. Many communities have been robbed off their money by “con” people/ fake NGOs and so there is always that fear in people. Alex emphasized more why it’s important to have this money in place even before the borehole is punched as this creates a sense of borehole ownership and not think that it’s for the Kibo group. Because of a great relationship and trust that Kibo builds with the community, many people respond positively apart from a few individuals. On a good note, already about 40,000/= has been raised in five days. Alex also met with all the new water user committee members and taught them about the roles they have to play during this Process. They have to make sure that they encourage everyone to contribute the money, remain together as one and also mobilize everyone to attend the meetings whenever called upon. He also left an assignment with the community members to have their separate meeting without Kibo and decide on the locations that can be put into consideration for borehole survey being in the interest of all the community members. They have to come up with three sites located in the middle of the community and our surveyor will try to consider this as he carries out the survey. However he was very clear to the community members that the final answer comes from the surveyor so he is the one that gets the best site to drill a borehole. Alex will go back on 12/03/2018 to continue preparing the community before the survey can happen just to make sure that there are no any disorganization that may a raise and make sure we don’t have a repeat of what happened in this same community last year with the district. Everyone has to know what exactly is required and keep working together and in unity as a community.
