- Irene went to bupeni village to teach about communicable diseases basically the different examples,mode of spread,prevention and treatment. Irene was welcomed by the chairman of the village who thanked kibo for the good work done and still requested kibo to move to other villages in their district so that they can also have a chance to have the good things that kibo provides. Irene asked the community members what they understand by the word communicable diseases so several members tried to, Flavia said these are diseases caused by walking with bare feet, musa said it’s diseases one gets from the animals, with that Irene thanked them for the trials then Irene said these are diseases got from one person to another causing lots of people to get sick. Giving several examples,COVID 19 being the number one Irene explained the different examples and the members added some examples too like eye infections,TB,Ebola,measles . Explaining the mode of transmission Irene said some are acquired through bites from animals,contaminated surfaces,person to person and air. Irene then told the members that these diseases can be avoided giving immunization,avoiding contacts with wild animals,vaccination,practicing safe habits like hand washing,avoiding contact with sensitive body parts like eyes,mouth,nose,and also seeking medical help Incase of contact. Irene then thanked them for coming and asked them to invite friends for the next lesson.
