Notes
Martin went to Igerera A, he walked around the village with the Chairman LC1 and the VHTs. Their intention was to check on the sanitation and hygiene improvement, to encourage the residents on facility construction methods and continuing the construction of hand washing stands and dish racks. Good enough the big number of homes have worked so hard on their new hand washing stands, rubbish pits, kitchens, shower areas, digging their new pit latrines, constructed them and other are still constructing them. So for those who have worked on their latrines, kitchens and shower facilities, the group was just appreciating and encouraging them how to them, so that they can help them for a long time. And for those who are still working on their new facilities, the group was encouraging them about better construction methods. On the side of the dish racks, they are still few, because Martin have just started promoting to them how they can construct them in a new model way. Because the community members in many villages kibo have worked in, they’ve been complaining about the termites. So now kibo have decided to promote what they call moveable dish racks. Because a moveable dish racks termites cannot destroy it, because when you see that termites are starting to destroy it, you remove and put it on another side. On the side of the hand washing stands, the community members was just appreciating kibo for the work going on in that village. Because when the government policy of washing hands started, they told the group that it was easy for them to follow, because kibo had already taught them how to wash their hands after visiting their latrines. As kibo is still working in that community as well as the village, the walked in 28homes.

14382 That is how other residents are constructing their new latrines in a local way, with poles and muddy soil.
