Notes
After receiving a call from Kalalu village about the death of a resident, Tom called two committee members from kishaike village who said they will be available. When Tom arrived in the village, he found when two of the committee members had just finished installing a new fence on the borehole. This came after Tom suggested to them that the borehole needed a new fence and that it was important to establish one. Tom was happy for the efforts put in to build a new fence on the borehole. After Tom and the two committee members moved around the village especially in the homes of those residents who by the third evaluation still did not have latrines. They moved to one of the village leaders homes Mr Mperekere where they found that after his old latrine collapsed, he recently started on a new pit and They found when the pit was already done. Tom and the committee members encouraged him to construct on the new pit as the old one collapsed and was very dangerous to us. Mr Mperekere said he was working with his neighbor to help him in the construction. After they went to another home where they also found a new pit already finished and they encouraged the residents the same way. As they moved around, they realized that most residents had constructed the hand washing stands but they were not cementing them. Tom and the committee members continued encouraging the residents to cement the hand washing stands so that they can last longer. In other homes where they found when the facilities were not to get os Standard, they were encouraged to replace them. During the meeting, Tom encouraged the committee members to mobilize the village leaders for the next meeting through which Tom will he introducing the Stove program as well as introducing the discussion of provision of a borehole to the village. Tom did not mention about the borehole but advised the committee members that a new discussion was to take place and that this discussion needs all the village leaders first.
