- Harriet went to Igerera B to follow up on stove building progress, smearing and stove used. This is because participants in Igerera B had committed them to complete all the participants in the group to ensure that they all have stoves by the end of October 2020. She found the participants when they have gathered at the meeting place and were busy collecting the dirt that they will use to build two stoves that they had planned to build that day. The participants worked to get her with Harriet stamped the dirt and built two stoves as Harriet guided them. The women participated most in stamping the dirt while singing and cheering while the four men led by the Chairperson LC1 kamya Charles actively participated in building stoves. The major challenge is that participants have not yet mastered in measuring the distance between the two cooking pots.They were leaving a very big space in between the two cooking pots. This will affect the effectiveness of the small stove because long distance between the stoves will take along time for the fire to reach the small stove. HARRIET encouraged the participants to keep on practicing because practice makes perfect . She also asked the women not to leave only the men to build stoves but they should also participate in building stoves because practice makes perfect. She also told them that once they master a skill they can also use it as a source of income because they can market their skill and build stoves in their neighboring communities thus increased income to support their families.
