Notes
Suzan went and visited the lower section of the village purposely to follow up on the stove building progress, maintenance of other facilities and stove usage. When she arrived there, she was welcomed by the group chairperson madam kawanguzi who seemed to be tired from the garden work. Later after other eight group members joined them, they went and visited some members who had recently got the fuel efficient stoves after constructing the kitchens. On their way, they kept on checking on the outside facilities like the shower areas, latrines, dish racks and rubbish pits. Some of the stoves needed to be repaired and smeared because they had cracked as well as smearing the kitchens, bathrooms and latrines. About four homes visited that day also needed to dig up new rubbish pits with dish racks. According to the chairperson, most members complained of the current rains which were destroying some of their facilities such as washing off the smeared dirt from some buildings as well as the dish racks. Suzan requested the members to always repair and maintain all their facilities whenever they got spoilt and use stronger materials for construction so that they would last longer. She also encouraged each member who received a new improved stove to use them for cooking their food on a daily basis so that they saved firewood and time to attend other developmental lessons. At the end, she thanked the members for the hard work done and then wished each one a happy stay.
