- Ida went to Maliga to introduce the lesson about domestic violence which is one of the new lessons in the community empowerment curriculum. Ida asked the community to tell her what they understand by domestic violence. Mutesi said that it’s the fight between married couples which affects children too. Mugabi said that domestic violence is the government law which refuses parents to beat their children. Ida thanked the members for the good answers and then defined domestic violence as all acts of physical, sexual,phycological or economical violence that may be committed by a family members or intimate partner. Members listed some causes of domestic violence as poverty, Alcohol, men coming back home late, men ignoring their responsibilities in homes, disrespect etc, Poverty is the biggest cause because it has made men run away from home Kateme said. Alcohol has. Done much in breaking families which has resulted in children going to streets. Men coming back home late and don’t want to be asked why, this has resulted into fights and left women with broken limbs, hands,lost their eyes and teeth just because they have no right to ask their husbands Nangobi said. Akello said that children don’t respect parents, when they try to discipline them they flee. The discussion was intense and members were active, next time will talk about how to prevent and deal with it in case we are victims.

- Stoves members started up a pool where by each member gets something of her choice but doesn’t exceed 30000 shillings.
