Notes
Irene went to budumba to teach about measles, chicken pox basically the causes, signs, and symptoms, prevention and treatment. Irene was welcomed by the chairman who thanked the members for their turn up each time they are called and also thanked kibo for their support. He also apologized for the members who were absent because they had gone for a burial in the neighboring village so the chairman invited Irene to say a word to the members. Irene thanked the members for their efforts towards changing their community especially through passing on information about the value of health issues, embracing the health services in their area and turning up for the health lessons. Then she made a recap of the previous lesson asking members questions about the previous lesson there after she asked members the difference between measles and chicken pox. Otis said measles brings small blisters with out water in them where as chicken pox has big blisters with water in them, wayibi said they have no difference since they both bring temperature, on addition to that Irene differentiated the two giving the different signs and the similarities they present. She also explained about the cause, prevention which included and advised on taking up immunization and Incase of an outbreak seek medical advice. Our meeting was cut short by rain and since we sit under a tree Irene asked to continue with the lesson the next time they meet.
