David and Steven were in Namusita village ,Namusita is in Ivukula sub county Namutumba district . This village has got a population of 220 out of 386 homes . David and Steven,s intentions of going there was to get the facts about the borehole and sanitation status. Namusita is one of the new villages kibo is projecting to start working in by next year. As they were in the village they were joined by the village chairman mr Simon kilya and the borehole care taker mr Mutyaba Godfrey who led them into the different homes during the home to home sanitation assessment movements. The kibo did the home to home movements because they wanted to know the village,s facts about the safe water chain. In the homes they visited,the discovered that most of them had facilities in place but the only challenge was that they needed maintenance. Along the same line the village chairman mr Simon kilya told David that the sanitation in most of the homes was not all that bad . Reason was that because USAID UGANDA an N. G. O had worked in Namusita village for two months some time way back. Therefore according to David and Steven,s analysis they agreed with the village chairman basing on the fact that the need for sanitation improvements will just need lesser improvements and the encouragements. Later after after the home to home movements they headed to where the borehole was . At the borehole promise this is what was discussed. The borehole caretaker Mutyaba Godfrey answered David,s question about the status of the borehole account . He said that they used to have some money worthy 100000 shillings as their borehole account balance. But because of the on and off borehole breakages currently the account wasn’t active at all . Because of that David encouraged the borehole chairman and the caretaker to start contributing more to avoid any shortcomings. For example lacking of water during the bigger days which were closely coming ahead of them like Christmas time . As they continued with the discussion this is what was noted . The following were the parts which were to be replaced. The 6 old PV C pipes which had holes and the 6 old galvanized rods , head assembly,cylinder and the maintenance of the borehole slub which was affected due to too much soil erosion causing the washing away of the soil by the borehole slub sides . They concluded their discussions when the village chairman had promised David and Steven that they were ready to do any kind of partnership with the kibo before repairing the borehole. However the village was so much ready. Also the borehole chairman mr Nuwa reported to David that the committee was made of 4 ladies and 6 men . But according to what David realized-was that the borehole committee was lacking the element of borehole full care and ownership. In general according to David and Steven,s overview ,they saw that the village was willing and read to cooperate with the kibo in order to promote the safe water chain.

2021-01-22 - Purpose: The kibo staff will be engaging the village into a borehole and sanitation meeting
Program Success
Because USAlD UGANDA an N G O worked in this village some time way back ,therefore the sanitation status of the village seem to be not so bad it needed little sanitation improvements work.
Program Critical Needs
More need for the sanitation improvements as well as the borehole repair.
Program Ownership
The borehole committee needs to restructured as well as teaching them the importance of the safe water chain.

David will be phone calling the village through the borehole chairman in order to check how the village will be progressing.
