Notes
Enock and Martin teamed with Greg and his wife Jill as well as Kristopher who came to visit and also see how the community are progressing as they are constructing latrines and other facilities. As they reached this village, they met with the Local leaders say VHTs, LC1 waiting so that they walk around the village. They teamed up to walk in homes to check on the progress of latrine construction, dish racks, shower areas, kitchen areas, hand washing facilities, use of Ash and standardization of all the facilities and to continue assessing. They saw 8 new pits which are still under construction, they were able to meet with all the families to talk about when they will finish the Construction of the latrines. They also saw new hand washing facilities and they tried to use them if they are functioning. All the hand washing facilities they saw are all working, Kibo staff and the visitors also encouraged the residents to buy the idea of making hand washing facilities and make it a guarantee to wash hands after visiting the latrine and before eating anything. They also demonstrated the use of ash in latrines, they made a lady to practice by her self as they guided her how ash is used. There are 4 new shower areas which were constructed so well. The section they walked in, they also continued encouraging, monitoring, teaching, assessing the importance of sanitation and hygiene in the community. The community members are embracing the program and are appreciative for the lessons Kibo is teaching them.
