Notes
Enock visited this community to continue teaching, encouraging, monitoring, evaluating and guiding the resident to complete all the sanitation facilities in their homes before we carry out the last evaluation. I met with the leader who where eagerly waiting for me at the meeting place where we had to walk around first in the homes near the trading centre and then walked to homes which are still working and digging new latrines as well as construction. We saw some new latrine under construction, new pit latrine holes and pix axes are busy in the community. We also encouraged the local leaders by visiting their homes first where most of them have all the facilities, I encouraged them to also continue guiding their fellow residents to improve their sanitation. After visit the homes of leaders, they again teamed up to continue visiting homes around where we saw some two rubbish pits, 13 new hand washing stands which they are asking for jerrycans as a support for hand washing campaign, there are 2 new pit latrine holes which we saw that being dug. There is a family which also called me to advise them as well as teach them how to construct a strong foundation for the latrine when they don’t have concrete slab. This is because the latrine fell due to poor construction and maintenance. I advised and guided them how to make proper foundation and how to construct sustainable structure. There are also some homes which constructed good shower areas but they didn’t have a cement ring on top. We advised them to buy some cement and construct the top of the shower areas with cement. This will help to sustain the facilities to stay for some good time as they use it.
