Ws Notes
David and Steven went to nawampiti and their intention of going there was to continue encouraging the few homes that were lagging behind as far as hygiene and sanitation improvement are concerned. They first moved to mr Bagise,s home the chairman LC3, of the village ,they found when he had dug his pit to about 10feet but the challenge was that he found a big rock as he was digging. Therefore he told them that the speed he had started with to dig his pit reduced ,reason being the rock was so hard that he requested for some more two week before he gets to complete the digging of his pit latrine. They checked his pit and saw the problem is indeed the rock. From there they went to another home which they had previously left also not improved of mr Tilibuza Daniel. Daniel had worked hard and completed his new pit latrine and also all the other new facilities were seen in place apart from the hand washing facility.David went ahead and thanked mr Tilibuza Daniel for the great new sanitation progress in his home.He even called his neighbours who were missing some facilities and demonstrated using mr Tilibuza s home how a good home should look like. After all that because they had still more time David told Steven that they should move in all homes in nawampiti 1 accessing the sanitation progress and standards. They moved in about 35 homes and saw great improvement for and they kept on encouraging the different people they found to maintain the required hygiene standards. As they were moving home to home they reached the treasurer,s home mr mwanja they asked him how much money so far he had collected toward the borehole account and he said that he had collected 120000 shillings.Because of the less contribution David together with mr mwanja thought of having a-village general meeting aimed at how they could get every member paying his or her borehole contribution. In general the members in Nawampiti have worked and improved on their hygiene facilities about 92% latrine coverage and other home hygiene facilities coverage as well. The great challenge noted in most homes in nawampiti 1 was the hand washing facility .r
