Notes
Diana, Henry, and Sarah went to Nawandyo A. The whole community was very excited to receive us. They welcomed us with songs praising Kibo for the good work done for them. They thanked Henry for checking on them, saying that some Directors don’t want to leave their offices to go to the field, but they are humbled to see Henry, the country Director visit them. The Chairperson Kibo welcomed us and read some of the achievements to us, which include, planting Muvule trees, mango trees, rearing chicken, rearing of local goats which made made them buy cows, sanitation and hygiene has improved in Nawandyo A village, domestic violence has reduced and discipline in children has greatly improved. Their future plans is to carry out modern farming for both food and cash crops in order to eliminate poverty., they hope to buy a diesel milling machine with the aim of getting daily income generation. Henry thanked Nawandyo A for being a diligent community that puts what they are taught into action. He thanked the chairman for being a good leader, because if he was not good, the community would still lag behind. Henry thanked them for having brilliant future plans which are going to remove them from poverty. He encouraged them to keep up the good work and to always embrace the Kibo programs. Diana thanked the whole community for keeping time, and putting on their masks. She asked them what they remembered with the previous lesson of chores and responsibilities in children. They answered them very well. Diana later introduced the lesson of the day which was discipline in children. I asked them how they discipline their children, Hajirah said that she makes her children lie down and beat them, Susan said for she doesn’t chase her children, instead she waits for the child to appear, then she disciplines him or her.Diana thanked them for their brilliant answers. Diana, told them that, when disciplining the child, you need to listen to them, you need to give your children attention, ignoring bad behavior can also help for example crying children.Teach children to treat others as they want to be treated, to mention but a few. The whole community was active and thanked us for the beautiful lessons we give them. The chairman concluded by requesting Kibo to continue supporting them by giving them more facilitators to teach them more new things about Kibo.
