Notes
Harriet went to Naibowa village to follow up on the stove building progress , smearing and construction of fire wood risen stands. She reached in the village and was received by the Chairperson of the Healthy and safe kitchens program Nabirye Juliet who told her that from the time kibo staff last visited their village they have built more four stoves on their own. Harriet asked the Chairperson to lead her in those homes so that she can look at those stoves. The good news was the stoves were well done except one that they made very big which would consume a lot of fire wood. Harriet told them that the reason why that one stove was very big is because they measured a long banana stem to create a hole where the big sauce pans would sit. They encouraged them to be mindful when ever they are measuring banana stems , she also commended them for that great achievement of being able to build stoves on their own despite the few mistakes. She also encouraged them through their chairperson to continue building stoves because practice makes perfect. Juliet told Harriet that, they have agreed as a group to complete all the remaining stoves to be built in the group by the end of March 2021 so that they start scaling out to the neighboring communities. She also requested kibo to follow up with them in these remaining days so that they can help them fix the mistakes Incase they are there. Kibo staff also walked through some few homes especially in the lower Section following up on smearing and firewood storages. Most people had embraced it and those ones who were lagging behind were encouraged. During the follow up the healthy and safe kitchens program chairperson in Naibowa was reminding them about the deadline they set. This was nice to hear and see in the village and so encouraging.

17586 Naibowa village.one of the stove that had just been smeared though the owner uses it on daily basis. This was evidenced by the absence of the traditional three stones in the kitchens and it also showed how much the owner valued her stove.
