Notes
Introduction Manuela went to Bukoma village to teach about HIV and Human Rights, this lesson is aimed at educating community members about the importance of Human Right forms to the people living with HIV virus. In most cases, people living with HIV virus are being looked like people who don’t deserve to utilize these rights yet they are very important to them.in others wise , this lesson is being taught so that participants can know that all people deserve human rights in their daily lives without being segregated. Overview This time was amazing when Manuela found 10 participants at the meeting place yet this has never happened since she started to teaching in that village, she reached them and greeted them and asked them that where are the rest, they said that, they will be coming in short time and it was true after few minutes they came and on that day Manuela taught 32 members for the first time in that village, this was as results of the previous meeting that Manuela had with them and some leaders, during that meeting Manuela told them that if they don’t change she leave that village and go to other villages who are interested in learning Life Skills, they reacted that no don’t live we are going to change. After that, Manuela went on and asked the participants about what they learnt previously, some of them who were around managed to share their ideas about what they learnt previously, after that she asked them that do people living with HIV virus deserve to utilize all forms of Human Right, surprisingly some of them said no, they don’t deserve it because their life span is short. The rest said yes they deserve because they are still human being though they are HIV positive. After all that reactions, Manuela told them , Human Right are Right we have simply because we exit as humans beings, they are standards that recognizes and protect the dignity of all the human beings, and these rights govern human beings live in society. Like right to worship, marry, education, medication, freedom of speech and communication, freedom of movement and transportation and among others. Manuela went on and told them that basing on the definition of Human Right that means it should be universal to everyone without segregation. Manuela went on and educated her participants that, the most group of people who need these rights are the vulnerable and the people who are living with HIV virus, because they need to be given chances to utilize all these rights so that they feel they are still human beings and living. For example Manuela told that all people living with HIV virus need to go school, they need to be given chances to communicate and make decisions and also their decisions to be valued, they need freedom to transportation, freedom to medication, freedom to marry, freedom to associate with one another and also to worship God. All theses need to be utilize by them so they can live longer. Finally, Manuela asked the participants if they have any questions, they said no, because they have understood now. Manuela told them that next visit participants will be doing end of topics test and introduce another topic on that day too.
