- Suzan and Tape went to the village to practically build a first demonstration stove. When they got there, they found some members already gathered at the home where the stove was going to be built. They happily welcomed them and without wasting much time since it was threatening to rain, Kibo staffs together with the members picked basins, baskets and went to the nearby bush where they found an anthill and began digging out it’s dirt. They carried it back outside the kitchen and Kibo staff requested the members to stand aside and watch critically as they began measuring basins of grass together with the dirt while mixing it up. Suzan kept on explaining each step to the members because non of them knew how to build the improved stove. However after the measurements, the dirt was scattered and water poured in it and together they joined in stamping it until it got ready. Kibo staff took measurements of the banana stems while explaining the whole process to the members because that was one of the most important steps that the members needed to learn at the beginning. Kibo staffs entered into the kitchen and began building the stove step by step as the members stood aside and watched critically. Others kept on asking questions concerning certain steps as Suzan answered them. This was also important because they needed to learn the skills and be able to build more stoves on their own in the nearby future. Finally the stove was complete and the owner of the kitchen was requested to keep turning and twisting the saucepans placed inside at least everyday so that they don’t get stuck and also to leave them in for one week where the banana stems would be removed by Kibo staffs. The members were so grateful for the lessons taught and planned to always work together as a team.
