Notes
Martin and Steven were in Busene, they walked around the village with the Chairman LC1, LC2 and the sanitation committee members. Their intention was to check on the new home facilities in that community as well as the village. Good enough, even if it’s a new village and kibo have just started working in that village, according to how kibo taught the community members the values of the home facilities and the disadvantages of not having them. The residents are busy working on their new facilities like digging the new pit latrines, constructing the new kitchens, dish racks, rubbish pits and shower areas. Unfortunately other community members are just running away, when they saw kibo staff in that village. When Martin and Steven asked the Chairman LC1 that, why they are used to run, he answered that, they fear to be arrested. Because in the Government policy, they don’t encourage the community members to work on their home facilities, but when they go to visit the villagers, they just arrest them. Generally even if they used to run a way in their homes, but their is some improvement, on the side of the new home facilities. like the new pit latrines, dish racks, kitchens rubbish pits and shower areas. And the work of the group was just appreciating and encouraging them to work hard on their new home facilities. After walking around the village, Martin and Steven decided to have a brief meeting with the village leaders, to discuss about how they can do to stop the community members, to run a way in their homes. Because the value of kibo, to go to the communities for follow ups home to home, is to encourage them about the standards and maintenance. So when they used to run a way every time, they don’t work on home facilities in a better way. So the next trip, they decided to have a general meeting with the hall village, to stop them running a way. As kib is still working in that village, the group walked in 28homes.
