Notes
Chris went to Budumba village to continue with the lessons about writing their constitution using the sample of the constitution from a different village. Chris was able to meet 25 members who included 18 women and 7 men , the chairperson of the group chaired the meeting, he welcomed new members who came for the meeting and thanked them for embracing the message of working together. The chairperson welcomed Chris to talk to members, Chris thanked the new members for coming and for putting their community above self, Chris , using the sample constitution emphasized the need for the group to have a constitution, he said without a legal document that binds the members together , the group will not be recognized by the government . Chris discussed about the Vision, mission, activities of the group, aims and objectives of the group, Chris said every member is supposed to involve in giving their opinions regarding different articles in their constitution however Chris encouraged the leaders to always call meetings to engage everyone because the constitution should reflect everyone’s view. Chris encouraged the community members to participate in meetings especially when they are about to choose the name , vision, mission and activities of the group. The chairperson thanked Chris for the sensitization of members about planting trees and now writing the constitution however , he requested for replacement of the trees that dried up, he said almost 90% of the musizi trees dried therefore he begs that if there is a chance of giving out trees , Kibo should consider them too because their community ran out of trees due to rampant cutting of trees. However, Chris encouraged the community members whose trees dried up to devise a way of replacing trees even before Kibo comes to help, Chris said the government through operation wealth creation gives out trees at the sub county therefore they should approach the office of CDO. Chris will be going back on 23/04/2021 to continue with lessons on constitution writing. Chris will be guiding the community members on the the name, mission and vision of their group in the constitution.
