Tape went to the village to continue teaching the members how to build a fuel efficient stove because the program was just beginning and almost all the members had not learned all the skills. This time the members would get involved in some steps such as stamping the dirt,cutting and leveling the banana stems because this would enable them to learn easily. When tape arrived there, she met one of the selected leaders madam rose at the meeting place where her home was and together they walked to the other home where most participants had gathered with the materials assembled for building the stove. The members welcomed Kibo staff to the village and tape began explaining to them how the activity was going to be carried out that day. She requested the members to try and participate in some steps for the stove building and also ask questions where they didn’t understand. The dirt was then brought outside the kitchen compound and tape with the help of some members began measuring it while mixing it with the grass which was already cut in pieces. The basins of dirt measured were eight while the grass made five basins because the stove was going to be small according to the size of saucepans provided by the owner of the home. After mixing it up, water was sprinked all over the dirt until it got abit soaked up and ready for stamping. Both the women and a few men joined in stamping the dirt as they sang different songs to make the whole activity more enjoyable and also to quicken the work. This also meant that the stove building process is better done together as a group than as a single or two individuals because it can quicken up everything without getting so tired. Later when the dirt became softer, it was carried into the kitchen corner in small ball like form and before building the stove, tape first asked the members to first learn how the banana stems were cut and shaped and also requested them to try and participate slowly. Tape showed them how it was done and two of the men requested to try it out while tape guided them. After, they entered into the kitchen and tape began building the stove step by step as the members watched and asked questions. Tape also kept on explaining to them every step until the stove was finally built. The members were so greatful for the lessons taught that day and tape thanked them for coming and participating in some steps. She encouraged them to maintain the same spirit of always working together as a team for an effective development. The meeting came to an end after they both agreed to meet in the next meeting.
