Notes
Harriet went Kazimba Kungira village to follow up on smearing of the home facilities and on how far the participants have gone with chopping grass. She reached in the village and found the chairperson of the group ( Alexander)at the meeting place and later own other participants also came for the meeting. Harriet told the participants the purpose of her visit as how she wanted to follow up on the assignment she left with them of smearing and chopping grass. She asked the Chairperson of the group to walk with her through the homes so that she checks whether participants have smeared their facilities. Some participants have started smearing their home facilities and were encouraged to complete. Also the participants who had not yet smeared their home facilities were encouraged to do so because before any one in the group gets a stove must have all her home facilities smeared. She also reminded the group through the chairperson that as they choose the next participant to get a stove , they should ensure that his home facilities are well smeared. The chairperson promised to follow Kibo guidelines as they chose the next participant to get a stove. She also told the chairperson that who ever gets a stove he or she is required to construct a firewood risen stands in his/ her kitchen to store firewood that he/she can use during the rainy season or during time of scarcity. Later own they came back to the meeting and found when other participants had gathered for the meeting. Harriet thanked those participants who had smeared their home facilities and encouraged those ones who were lagging behind to do so. She also asked them on how far they have gone with chopping grass and the participants said that they have so far chopped two basins of grass and they plan to chop more six basins of grass before the next meeting so that they will have enough grass that kibo will use to teach them how to practically build stoves. Kibo staff encouraged them to keep on working together and encouraged more members to participate in the program.
