Notes
Ida, Diana, Henry and his family went to Nawandyo A to carry out assessment on community empowerment lessons. The secretary mr Ndalike Mohammed welcomed the Kibo staff to Nawandyo A. He thanked Kibo for the love rendered to them. He thanked Henry for taking his children Miya, Xander and their grandmother Mikal to them. This shows the love he has towards their community. He requested every one to emulate the heart Henry has and the entire Kibo group. The Chairman Dan also thanked Henry and his team for loving them that is Ida, Diana and his family. He said they have never seen a loving community like Kibo. He requested Kibo staff never to get tired of them. He said that although Henry is bidding them bye bye, he should never forget them. They as Nawandyo A community will greatly miss him, a person with a heart of humility. Sofia also thanked the Kibo staff for their love, bringing for them good things from their basket. As they know, Kibo is a basket full of good things, she too requested Kibo never to get tired of them . They will fight so hard to put whatever is taught to them into practice. Henry was happy to hear this. Henry and his family planted orange trees, mango trees. This was so touching to the Nawandyo A community. Henry encouraged them to keep maintaining the trees, he will one day come with his entire family to share on the beautiful fruits of the trees. Henry told them that he has a lot to remember in Nawandyo A, there hospitality will never be forgotten. He thanked Dan the chairman and his secretary Ndalike Mohammed for always mobilizing the people and encouraging unity in their community. Henry encouraged the community to keep planting trees, rear chicken, smear the kitchens, tell other women and men who have not attended the programs, what the members have learnt from the lessons. He told them not to be selfish. Ida added on, telling them not to give up the spirit of working together. She encouraged them to love one another, treat each person with respect. She then asked them what they remember from the lessons that were taught to them, since Community Empowerment lessons were introduced to them. Dan said he remembers domestic violence, Harmony and unity in marriage, love in the family, parenting, Mohammed remembers, trust in God, discipline in children, Sauda remembers chicken rearing, early marriage and bride price, chores and responsibilities. Ida thanked them for their brilliant answers. She told them if they put this into practice, Nawandyo A will be a bright community. Treat the children and one another with respect. Diana thanked the community for their love for them. She asked them what they remembered from the previous lesson, Diana said it is a reward to her and Ida. Diana asked them what they learnt from each lesson since community empowerment lessons started. Dan said in domestic violence, he remembers to treat his wife with dignity, not quarreling before the children, loving his wife and children, avoid rumor mongering, Mohammed learnt to respect his wife in love and unity, cooking together with his wife, praying together with his family, Diana kept thanking everyone who participated and encouraged them to love their families and be there for their families, Sumaya remembers chicken rearing which has benefited her so much, she is able to educate her children. Diana kept explaining all the topics as the community kept answering her questions. All in all it was a beautiful thing to see how well the community remembers the lessons. Henry encouraged them never to stop doing good and help each other in case of any problem. The community was so happy and they promised to put everything they were taught into practice.
