Notes
Jessica and Suzan went to the village to continue teaching the community how to build the fuel efficient stoves because they have not yet learnt how to build them well and needed more demonstrations. They arrived on time and went to the home where other members had gathered with all the building materials put in place. After welcoming one another, Kibo staff together with the community members began measuring the dirt while mixing it with the grass and making sure each one tried to master the number of basins mixed with the number of dirt. Later they stamped it until it got ready for building the stove. During the process, some women were heard praising Kibo for the lessons especially teaching them how to wake up early and first perform their home activities so that they saved time for the program lessons. One named Christine said she used to go for the meetings late because she was piled with so many house chores all alone, but because of the first lessons she attended for the healthy and safe kitchens program, she has improved a lot and always wakes up early to save time . This was so encouraging to hear and together they continued discussing the way forward to implementing the program activities in time while they carried out other home activities such as cooking food for the children and their husbands on time. Later they took the dirt inside the kitchen and began building the stove while Kibo explained each step clearly. Other members tried to participate because Kibo staff encouraged them to always do so which will enable them perform better in the future. The stove was finally completed and the members thanked Kibo for the good lessons taught that day.
