Notes
Alex while in Butabira continued to guide the village residents to come up with a standard borehole wall fence required. The work of constructing this wall fence never kicked off last week as was earlier agreed upon and instead started on Tuesday this week. On a very good note, the community members both men and women participated very well in the process of building this wall fence. This wall fence will resemble like the one that was constructed at the upper old borehole repaired by kibo group last year and is expected to be completed on Thursday 9/2021. The neighboring villages have admired , coped this design and have started building at their boreholes having seen also the challenges involved with the wooden pole fence that is not sustainable. Alex also observed the community trying to build a stove on their own without a kibo staff guiding them. He encouraged them to continue working together and learn this skill to build stoves on their own. Alex will plan to go back and check on the completed wall fence and as well continue to meet with the water user committee to plan for the commissioning of the new borehole.
