Notes
Jessica went to the village to continue teaching the community members how to build fuel efficient stoves on their own and follow up on the smearing of the buildings. When she arrived she went to Agnes’s house and found the community members already gathered with the materials ready. They welcomed her and without wasting much time, they began measuring the dirt with the grass while mixing it and sprinkled water all over it . They then stamped the dirt together until it got ready for building the stove, later it was carried inside the kitchen and some of the active members began building the stove step by step while Kibo staff guided them through out because most of them had not yet mastered all the skills of stove building. The members were so active as Jessica observed that each one of them tried to participate in each step. Later after the stove was complete, Jessica walked with two committee groups leaders around the village while others stayed back completing the last stages of the stove building like making it smooth. They went and checked on different facilities such as smearing of the buildings and construction of the firewood storages. Jessica observed that some members had greatly improved on their sanitation and hygiene especially after receiving improved fuel efficient stoves in their kitchens. Some of their buildings were well smeared and other kitchens had neat constructed firewood storages. A bout five kitchens observed that day needed to be repaired and constructed at the roof because they had less grass which made them leak whenever it rained. She encouraged the members to make sure they repaired and reconstructed new facilities so that they lived a healthy life with their families. Jessica thanked the members for attending the lessons and the meeting came to an end.
