Notes
Enock made a visit to this community to check in the progress for sanitation facilities more so latrine construction, dish racks, shower areas, hand washing stands, rubbish pits, kitchen areas among other programs. As we reached the community we walked with the chairman, VHTs to continue teaching, assessing and guiding the residents on the core importance of proper sanitation facilities since some people have been pretty slow to respond to change. During the visit we managed to meet most of the residents in their homes more so homes which where lagging behind, we discussed with them and guided them how to construct sustainable facilities more so latrine foundation. There are some good latrine and shower which are constructed in many homes of thus community. There are also hand washing stands which are being constructed and those who initially constructed without cement most of their stands fell down, we encouraged them to see the value of using cement while constructing the stands. The upper section of this village has greatly improved the sanitation where most homes have constructed good standard facilities. The community is working towards changing the old behaviors of open defecation to embrace transformation. I was so impressed to see a new latrine in one of the residents who for a very longtime didn’t have a proper latrine. The chairman and VHTs where also happy to see that one of the most stubborn villages
