Notes
Harriet went to Butabira village to continue teaching participants how to build stoves this time she was to guide them. She also wanted to look at the stove that the community was tasked to build on their own and if it was poorly done Harriet would correct it. The participants apologized for having not performed their assigned task reason being that one of the participants lost a father thus instead of building the stoves they had to be with her at the funeral to console the family as well as prepare food for the mourners as a sign of sharing love. The participants had already mixed the dirt and stamped it that they would use to build a stove for the day. Harriet asked them to first walk with her to check whether the participants they have chosen for the day had all her home facilities smeared. Harriet guided the participants to build a stove on their own and she asked the women who have always been sitting at the back to directly participate because this program directly benefit and the goal of the program is to empower them with a skill of building stoves. Interestingly the women participated in the stove building process as Harriet guided them and at the end of the one stove was successfully built.Harriet encouraged them to keep on practicing because practice makes perfect. Then after the stove building she taught the participants how to build firewood storage stands that would help them to stock firewood that they would use during the time of scarcity especially during the rainy season. She also told them that when ever some one gets a stove he/ she should construct the firewood storage stand and stock them with firewood.
