Notes
Keneth and enock visited kamudoke to monitor and advise community members on hand washing construction and general sanitation. They focused on behavial change, reminded the resident on the many challanges which result due to open defecation and diseases which are caused like diahoria, dysentry, cholera, typhiod and many more diseases causing increase of medical expenditure, poor performance in school for kids since they can’t concentrate in class. On arrival ,keneth and enock went to different corners of the village so that they can reach a good number of homes. They guided, sensitized , taught, the residents how to construct good standard facilities focused on hand washing consteuction and usage, latrine construction, emphazised the use of ash in latrines to chase flies and keep the hygiene of the latrine. We saw about 15 new hand washing stands, 2 new latrines which are under construction and observed the residents using the new handwashing, encouraged the community members to use Omo detergent, add a spoonfull and mix it in the water for hand washing if they can’t buy bar soap. Keneth met a few homes that never had essentials on the previous visit and had worked hard to provide some of them on this visit, forexample mr phillip who never had superstructure on his latrine was found raising it and had built a standard drying rack with soaak pit under and promised to build the two hand washing stands when he is done with the latrine wall. He further met the chairman of the village who was also building and plastering his two hand washing stands and promised to provide door on his latrine for privacy. Keneth met mr ali whom he advised to provide drainage andsoak pit on his bathroom on the previous visit had improvised them and soon he promised to set up a handwashing stand. He further met a few homes that never had hand washing stands that had already built both at the latrine and in front of their compounds for visitors and some these homestead heads were advised to re structure the walls on their latrines
