Lesson Taught
Bible Lesson 8: Teaching Children
Notes
Ida went to Ndalike to teach a lesson about discipline in children. This lesson teaches children how to behave. Teaching discipline to our children is a job that takes time and needs patience and also helps children learn effective discipline strategies. Ida encouraged parents to e the first examples of good discipline because children learn best by our actions. Ida asked the community members to tell her how and why it’s important to maintain discipline in children. Muzale said that it teaches children make good decisions, choices and to deal with their feelings. Kisame said that parents must teach children how to behave because God gave them the responsibilities they will be accountable for their deeds. Ida too gave the community members some suggestions of ways to discipline children. 1. Have clear and consistent rules your children can follow and explain them in appropriate terms they can understand. 2. Listen to your children and let them finish the story before you helping solve the problem. 3. Be prepared for trouble. Plan a head for such situations and always use positive words. 4. Teach your children to treat others as they would want to be treated. In conclusion, as parents you can give yourself a time out if you feel out of control. When you better, go back to your children and hug each other and start over again. Mr Mugote the VHT thanked members for coming and also Kibo for the love they have towards Ndalike community. He ended the meeting with a prayer.
