Notes
Irene and Maria went to Naisamula to teach about sexually transmitted diseases and HIV /AIDS,basically to teach members on how one acquires, prevention, and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases and life time drugs on HIV/AIDS. Maria thanked everyone for coming, introduced her self to members and also made a review on the previous lesson, she encouraged members to continue mobilizing other community members to come for the lessons Maria then welcomed Irene to talk to the members. Irene thanked all members for coming then she introduced the topic as sexually transmitted diseases and HIV/AIDS. During the discussion, Irene informed the members that most of the STDs are spread from one person to another through sexual contact basically through unprotected sexual contact. Florence shared with the members how STDs are spread, she said that men who get more than one wife spread infections because they even do not test the women before marrying them. Though Geoffrey said that it is the women who are causing the men to get more than one wife because of poor hygiene, disrespect, and other issues. Irene encouraged members to always go visit the hospital for proper diagnosis and treatment, improve on hygiene, and avoid contact with blood.Usually symptoms vary depending on the infection. On addition to that members were encouraged to test and know their status, and if it is found out that you have any sexually transmitted diseases, treatment will be administered because most of the STDs are curable as for HIV / AIDs there is a life time treatment. We advised them to go to Healthy centers where there is a professional counselor to council them together as husband and wife. Irene still advised the members on life time treatment, adherence Incase one is positive and living healthy life. The meeting ended with a word of prayer from Monic.
