Learning Objectives
To educate the participants about the importance of avoiding problems in communication
Notes
Purpose of the visit, Manuela went to Bulyowa village to teach about communication skills, emphasizing on communication behavior [Attack and Avoiding behavior]. This lesson is aimed at educating community members the disadvantages of Attacking behaviors and the advantages of Avoiding behaviors to participants lives. This lesson is also aimed at encouraging participants to always avoid than Attacking fellows so that to overcome problems. Manuela reached the village and found when community members had come out with an idea on how they are going to demonstrate Attack and Avoiding behavior , they made a borehole out of banana step and some sticks for handle , Manuela asked them, why they decided to come up with a borehole image, they said, because most women like the borehole area to fight and attack one another. Manuela introduced the lesson and after that After that discussion, Manuela asked for a volunteer to review the previous lessons, one of the participants called Moses reviewed , Moses participated in asking questions and the participants were able to share their ideas about the lesson. After that, Manuela introduced the lesson on communication behavior, Manuela asked the participants if they have people who Attack their fellow in the community? they responded yes, even one of the participant said that they are many. Manuela asked them again that, how about people who practice Avoiding behavior. They said haaaa they are few. Manuela asked them another questions, what causes people to attacks their fellow? They responded by saying that being arrogant, failing to manage emotions, listening to gossip which are not right, hatred, Anger and among others. Manuela asked the participants about the disadvantage of Attacking behavior, they sighted answers like it leads to hatred,imprisonment , death, Accident, disabilities and among others. Manuela asked the participants about the advantages of Avoidance behavior, they said it can lead to peace, love, unity, mutual understanding development in the community and among others. Manuela advised the participants to mind of their communication behavior, the wards they use while communicating, the body language. Manuela also advised the participants to try and balance their emotions so to avoid problems with one another in the community. After that, some participants volunteered to demonstrate the Attacking and Avoidance behavior, Manuela advised them that while acting they should not hurt one another, six women acted first, after few minutes, the men also played. The game was fun, after that, Manuela asked the participants questions about the game, they were able to share their ideas about the role play. Few minutes after after the game, During the evaluation exercise, one of the man called waiswa, told a story on how his father never had good relationships with his brothers and sisters simply because he was so arrogant, he uses bad wards towards his siblings, he never listens to the fellow family members because he was the first born in that home,waiswa said when his grandfather died, his father wanted to inherit everything, but his siblings were not happy with him, one day his younger brother was very annoyed with his dad, he went and attacked him with the panga knife, as they were fighting by mistake his younger brother cut off his hand, waiswa said they had his father screaming that I am dying so they rushed to see what was happening, they found his father laying down bleeding seriously, he was taken to hospital and his uncle was taken to the police , his uncle paid a lot of money for treating his father and that up to now no peace in their family including even them the children but all came from the Attacks which his uncle attempted on his father, he also advised the fellow participants to managed their emotions before acting , he told them to look for peaceful ways of handling matters than fighting and attacking one another.

22302 A man in whit chart, was giving an overview on the previous lessons, he would ask the fellow participants about what they learnt. This session took 10 minuets.
22305 The following men were demonstrating the behavior of Attacks and Avoiding situation when someone attacks you.
22308 The women in Gomesi, was explaining how one day his neighbor was attacked an aware at night and what the family of the people who attacked the other family are going through up to now. She said the victims were arrested and put in jail the children and their mothers are suffering which is not good so she appreciated Manuela for that lesson and encouraged the fellow participants to try and avoid situations that can put their families in dangers.
