Purpose of the visit, Manuela planed to go that village and teach the community members about the importance of critical thinking and listening skills in communication skills. This lesson is aimed at educating participants to understand the value of listening and critical thinking in Communication Skills. Manuela reached the village found participants already gathered at their meeting place, Manuela greeted them and requested for one of the volunteers to pray,Moses prayed, after that, Manuela asked the participants questions about the previous lessons taught, some participants where able to remember and gave right answers but the majority were off topic, Manuela noticed that few participants understood the lesson, so she decided to go through it one by one, she explain to them again so that they can understand and practice it well with their fellow participants. Manuela requested them to be attentive because she will asked them again questions about the lessons. Manuela defined Communication styles, she said that, theses are different approaches to express our thoughts, feelings and opinion while communicating, Manuela told them that, approaches can be Assertiveness, Passiveness and Aggressiveness. For example Passive, Manuela explained to the participants that, Passive Communication is typically common among individuals who agrees to what people want or say, they don’t make decisions , tends to apologizing all the time, fails to assert for them selves ,they are shy, silence, speaks while facing down, Manuela asked the participants if they do have such people they said yes but few and most of them are women. Manuela also explained about Aggressive behavior, she told the participants that, Aggressive behavior is characterized by being controlling , demanding, rude and arrogant, Manuela also told the participants that people who are Aggressive are usually louder while communicating, they oppress their peers’s ideas , they mention wards without thinking twice.etc After explaining, Manuela asked the participants that, do they have such people in their community they shouted yes, they are many, and most of them are men, the Women shouted. Finally Manuela also explained to the participants about Assertive styles, she told them that out of the three, assertive communication is believed to be most effective, because individuals are confident, they stick to what is right and refuse what is wrong, they respect the value, thoughts and ideals of others, they speak in calm voice they stand up for their rights without oppressing others etc. Manuela encouraged the participants to practice this styles and adopt it because it’s the beast way to communicate with one another. Manuela asked the participants that, do they have such people in the their community they said they said yes but few. After re teaching the previous lesson, Manuela introduced the lesson of the day, Manuela started this lesson by asking the participants that what is good listening, they said it means paring attention to someone who is talking, another one said looking in to ones eye, being quiet etc, Manuela asked them another question, what happens in the meetings where people are not listening to the facilitator? They said participants will not understand, the facilitator will not be happy with the participants and he or she will not do beast, one said the class bee noisy, etc. Manuela explained to them that it’s very important to pear attention, maintain eye contact , use positive body language like nodding your head, keeping quiet during that time and also asking questions were necessary while one is communicating , Manuela asked them that what are the importance of listening, participants suggested answers like , participants will understand, peace, love, room for questions, good relationships etc. Manuela also encouraged them to teach their children to be good listener and parents too, she encouraged them live positively towards their children and they should be good listener to family members. Manuela asked them that ho do they feel about today’s lesson, they said good they were able to understand the previous lesson also.
