- Irene went to Nawampiti to teach about accessing medical services. The meeting started with a word of prayer from the VHT, Then the chairperson thanked kibo for the love they always show to this village, sending different programs, which has done a great impact in this village. He also thanked the members for turning up, then invited Irene to speak to the community members. The Irene was invited to speak to the members. Irene thanked all members for coming and introduced the lesson as accessing medical services. The meeting started by discussing some of the services offered in hospitals, the value of seeking medical services, and knowing emergencies and how to deal with emergencies. During the discussion members shared the different types of services offered in the near by hospitals and the challenges that hinder them from getting the services. Among the challenges mentioned were lack lack of transport ( poor roads), absenteeism of medical workers, some think that the disease is or was just bewitched and there is no need of going to hospital but shrine, and lack of medicine in hospitals. Irene encouraged all members to seek the guidance of medical worker first regardless of all the other challenges. Some times children get malaria and the parents think that it is witchcraft, yet the malaria is becoming severe which in turn result to loss of lives. Members were encouraged to first think about hospital in any case. Further still Irene and the members discussed some of the situations that require immediate care from the hospital; mothers in labor, snake bite, convulsions among others. Irene advised them to go to hospital as soon as possible in any case, she also advised them to go to government hospitals for the medication is free of charge. With the complaints about medical workers Irene promised to return with the health inspector who will address their issues. From the village Irene passed the hospital where the community members go for medication, talked to the health inspector and he promised to return with her to the village. The chairperson ended the meeting with a word of prayer.
