Notes
Jeska went to Igerera A village to continue guiding participants on stoves especially in the lower section of the village as well as follow up on firewood storages. She reached in the village and found the participants already gathered at the meeting place. This time the participants had chosen two members from the lower section to get stoves. The participants had already stamped the dirt for the two stoves. They divided themselves into two groups where by Sylvia , Muhamood , Matiya and Fred(whom the community identified for having mastered the skills of building stoves) divided them selves and two people joined each home. At the end of the day the community was able to successfully build two stoves in the lower section. Also Kibo staff worked with the participants and removed banana stems from one of the stoves that was previously built. Kibo staff thanked them for being considerate and having considered participants from the lower section to get involved in the program by reaching out to them. The two members from the lower section who got stoves thanked Kibo together with the participants for having given them a chance also to get stoves though they have not been actively involved. They related this to the Bible story of the lost sheep. They promised to continue working with them to reach out to other participants who are lagging behind. Kibo staff thanked the participants for having embraced the program and extending the service to others. She told them that’s one of Kibo goal to ensure that participants learn how to build stoves in order to build for others. She also encouraged all the participants with stoves to construct firewood storages in their kitchens and stock them with firewood that they can use during the rainy season or time of scarcity.
