Chris and Alex walyomu went to this community to continue with lessons of taking care of goats, this time around they invited Mr Dr waluube , the district veterinary doctor of namutumba to teach the community how best they can take care of the goats. According to Mvule program curriculum, taking care of goats is the last stage before the community receives goats from Kibo, this is cemented by the invitation of the government veterinary doctor who ensures that the community member benefit from the goats and also it sets the beginning of relationship between the veterinary doctor and the community members meanwhile the giver veterinary doctor becomes a center of contact in case the goats fall sick he is able to follow up. While in the community Mr waluube thanked Kibo group for extending sustainable development to rural area like nabituluntu and cautioned the community members to love Kibo programs because there are many villages out there who would wish for Kibo programs however he put much emphasis on three items during the care of goats which included feeding , shelter, deworming. Feeding, the doctor advised the community members to make sure they feed the goats on clean grass and give them plenty of clean water if they wanted to benefit from their goats. He encouraged the community to grow more plants the goats can feed on and cautioned them against feeding their goats on neighbor’s crops , he said this would create conflicts in the community. Shelter, Mr Waluube advised the community members to build goat shelters which are raised 2 meters above the ground , he appealed to the community to endeavor to clean the goats shelter everyday since this will prevent many diseases. Deworming, the doctor advised the community to deworm the goats at least twice a month , he advised them not to feed their goats on grass in the morning when many worms are still on but to wait when the sun comes out. The chairperson thanked the doctor for skilling them how to take care of goats , he said the community was very happy about the lessons and promised to follow the instructions just as they had been taught. Alex walyomu appealed to the community members to prepare for the day of distribution of goats, he stated that every member should come along with a new rope since distribution will be by tying ropes on all goats , the goats will then be put inside the enclosed house and the members according to the order f names in their register will pull the ends of the ropes , this is for transparency n the process. Chris and Alex will return to the community to distribute the 30 goats to the community members next week o Monday.
